This privacy policy explains how Triangle Carrot Ltd ("we", "us") handles information when you use the Tally Toro app ("the app"). We are the data controller for the information described here.
Information we collect
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. Passwords are stored in hashed form.
When you use the app, we store the portfolio information you enter:
- each holding's name, ticker symbol, asset type, quantity, currency, purchase price and purchase date;
- current prices and when they were last updated;
- Premium Bond holdings and any winnings you record.
We don't ask for, and you shouldn't enter, bank or brokerage account numbers or login details. The app doesn't connect to your bank or broker.
Market data
To show current prices and search for ticker symbols, the app requests market data from Yahoo Finance. These requests include the ticker symbols or search terms involved and, like any internet request, your device's IP address. They don't include your email address or portfolio values. Our server also fetches prices for the symbols held in the app so they stay up to date. Yahoo handles these requests under its own privacy policy.
The app also downloads its fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your device's IP address when it does.
Information stored on your device
The app keeps you signed in and remembers display preferences, such as your reporting currency and performance period, on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes this data.
How we use information
We use your information only to run your account and show you your portfolio.
We don't sell your information, use it for advertising, or use analytics or tracking services.
Who we share information with
- Our hosting provider, which stores the data on our behalf.
- Yahoo Finance, which receives ticker symbols and search terms as described above.
Nobody else, including other users, can see your portfolio.
Legal basis (UK and EEA users)
We process your information because it's needed to provide the service you signed up for.
Data retention and deleting your account
We keep your account and portfolio for as long as your account is open. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, holdings and Premium Bond winnings straight away. Copies in our server backups are overwritten within 14 days. Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing the address below.
If you're in the UK or EEA, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Not financial advice
Tally Toro is a record-keeping tool. Prices may be delayed or inaccurate, and nothing in the app is financial advice.
Children
The app isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
Information is sent to our servers over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and each account can only access its own portfolio. No system is completely secure, but we limit what we collect and who can access it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when the app changes. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
